Preko

The village with ferry transportation (Zadar) is in the middle part of northeast coast. Preko is the biggest town at island and Preko is island’s administration and transportation centre. The coast is the great for bathing, especially at the island Galovac.

The tourist resort is Preko included the Sutomiscica, Poljana and island Osljak. The town was settlement in Romans period. The Roman’s church of St. Jan Krstitel) was built in 12th century and the baroque parish is from year 1765. Up the hill, in the middle of the island, on the southwest are reminds of the middle ages fort from 13th century. In the front of the wood is the small island Galovac with monastery from year 1443 and little island Osljak.
